Kilmore Diocesan Eucharistic Adoration Committee developed and re-launched

A group of lay people, sent as delegates by parishes throughout the diocese of Kilmore, was in formation and training over the past four months as part of the development and expansion of the Diocesan Eucharistic Adoration Committee.

This was organised and conducted by John Howard and Brendan Cleary of the National Committee of the Apostolate of Eucharistic Adoration with the encouragement and support of Bishop Leo O’Reilly and the priests of the diocese.

The Diocesan Committee was commissioned at a special Mass offered by Fr. Enda Murphy, Diocesan Director of Pastoral Services, on the feast of St. Mark, Saturday 25 April 2015, in the Chapel of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Cavan.  He was assisted by Rev. Andy Brady, one of the permanent deacons in the diocese of Kilmore.

This adoration committee is equipped and trained to set up a system of viable weekly adoration in any parish of the diocese at the invitation of priests. Where a previous system exists, then the task undertaken will be to strengthen and expand it.

Very promptly, several parishes have requested a weekend presentation from the committee. It is expected that there will be a great uptake from parishes of the diocese in 2015, and eight contact teams are now available to respond to parishes as they make contact.

The Chairperson of the new Diocesan Eucharistic Adoration Committee is Anna Grogan, Carrickane, Cavan, who may be contacted on 049 4331184 or 087 9979743.
