Fr Patrick V. (Paddy) R.I.P.

1934 – 2025

It is with deep regret that the Diocese of Kilmore announces the death of Fr Paddy Brady R.I.P. which occurred on Saturday 27 December 2025 in the Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham, Mullingar Co Westmeath.

Born on 25 July 1934, Fr Paddy was a native of Cornaslieve, Virginia, Co. Cavan, in the parish of Lurgan. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Chapel of St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, on 21 June 1959 and subsequently ministered in

Fr Paddy retired from active ministry in 2018 and moved to the Portiuncula Nursing Home in  Multyfarnham.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Molly and Thomas, brother Leo, sisters May and Angela.

Sincere sympathy and heartfelt condolences are extended to his sister Vera (Virginia), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, Bishop Martin Hayes, Bishop-Emeritus Leo O’Reilly, brother priests, former parishioners, and his many good friends.

 

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Fr Paddy will repose at Matthews’ Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan (A82 YV58) on Monday evening, 29 December 2025, from 5:00p.m. until removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia (A82 CD98), arriving for prayers at 7:00p.m.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday 30 December 2025 at 12 noon in Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia, with burial afterwards in Drumkilly Cemetery.
