Celebrating Priesthood in the Diocese of Kilmore in this Year of Prayer for Vocations (5)

I remember a priest who had a mission in my parish. I know a lot of people who found serenity after attending the Mission. Someone near to me said it triggered them to open up and speak about their feelings as they had been considering suicide.

In the last few months before my Mum passed away through weakness she found it very difficult to concentrate on her prayers .This worried her and she chatted about it to our local priest. He brought her a piece of wood which was carved so it could be easily held in her hand , blessed it and told her this was how she could pray by holding it. This brought her a great peace as she held it until she passed away.

I can honestly say that both made a difference to me for which I am truly thankful.
