Diocese takes part in Facilitative Leadership Training

Diocese takes part in Facilitative Leadership Training:

The Steering Committee of the Synodal Pathway in Ireland has developed a pilot Facilitative Leadership Training Programme to equip local leaders, including clergy and lay people, with the necessary skills to integrate synodality into the life of the Church in Ireland. Recently, a team of seven people from the Diocese of Kilmore completed part of this training, which involved a Zoom training session followed by a two-day residential stay in Knock. The training sessions covered various topics such as Christian leadership, the theology and spirituality of synodality, discernment – personal and communal – and practical leadership skills.

The team from the Diocese of Kilmore was Fr. Paul Casey, Martina Gilmartin, Darragh Hourihane, Bronagh Prunty, Deacon Padraig Kelly, Leanne Ledwith, and Thomas Kelly.

The programme will conclude in the next few months, and it will be interesting to see how the team applies this new-found knowledge at diocesan and parish level.
