Emerging Crocuses at Cavan Cathedral

Emerging Crocus Flowers at Cavan Cathedral

It’s wonderful to see the emerging crocus flowers that were planted during the Season of Creation Celebrations last September.  The crocuses were planted to illustrate the impact of climate change and to demonstrate that every action to address climate change contains within it the seed of hope.  Hope for a brighter future for humanity, hope for a sustainable economy and a just transition, hope for the protection and restoration of the land, its ecosystems, and waterbody together with a rediscovery of the joy and the glory of God’s creation. Grace and goodwill together with dedication and determination, a just and sustainable world is possible.

TAKE STRENGTH!

YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH!

The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom;
like the crocus, it shall blossom abundantly,
and rejoice with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
the majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the Lord,
the majesty of our God. (Isaiah 351:2) …

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”. (Mt.11:28)
