Fr. Enda Murphy

Fr Enda Murphy, a priest of the diocese of Kilmore and currently Diocesan Director of Pastoral Services and Youth Ministry, has been appointed by the Vatican Secretariat of State to serve in the Congregation  for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments of the Roman Curia.

Ordained in 2001, Fr Murphy is a native of Derrylin, Co Fermanagh. He studied at Queen’s University, Belfast, the Gregorian University in Rome and, more recently, at the Pontifical Athenaeum of St Anselm in Rome where he received a Doctorate degree in Liturgy. He also served for a number of years as curate in the parish of Laragh.

Bishop O’Reilly was asked by  Cardinal Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation, to release Fr Murphy to work in the Congregation for Liturgy in order to assist in the renewal of the Roman Curia by Pope Francis.

We wish Fr Murphy every blessing in his new ministry of service to the universal Church.

All of us in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre also wish him well in his new appointment and thank him for his contribution to pastoral development and youth ministry in the diocese over the past two years, especially the development of our new Pastoral Plan which was launched recently.
