Kilmore Diocesan Appointments 2020

KILMORE DIOCESAN APPOINTMENTS 2020

The past number of months have been challenging and have put great strain on all of us, our parishes, our families and personally; and especially our priests who continued to serve those entrusted to their care.

As we begin to return to some semblance of normality, including the celebration of the sacraments in restrained circumstances, we recognise that there are huge demands at parish level, not least the rescheduling of First Holy Communion and Confirmation which had to be postponed from their regular times.

Traditionally diocesan appointments are reviewed about this time of year. Arising from ongoing deliberations on the part of the Diocesan Administrator, Msgr. Liam Kelly, in consultation with the Diocesan Deans and with all the priests involved, I announce the following diocesan appointments which will take effect from Saturday 12 September 2020:

  • Very Rev. Oliver Kelly, P.P. V.F. Manorhamilton to be parish priest in Glenfarne.
  • Very Rev. John Gilhooly, P.P. Mullagh to be parish priest and V.F. in Manorhamilton.
  • Rev. Paul Prior, C.C. Glenfarne to be parish priest in Mullagh.
  • Rev. Darragh Connolly, priest in residence Drumkilly, to go on half-year sabbatical.

I thank those priests who have agreed to accept a new appointment and wish them God’s blessing as they embark on a new chapter in their ministry.

Fr. Martin Hayes
