Kilmore-native elected to Leadership Role with the Irish Capuchins

A native of the Diocese of Kilmore has been elected to leadership role with the Irish Capuchins –

At their recent Provincial Chapter held in the Emmaus Retreat Centre, Swords, Brother Seán Kelly from Ballinamore, and formerly of Drumkeerin, was elected by his confreres to serve in a leadership role with the Irish Capuchin Franciscans as Provincial Vicar for the next three years.

Brother Seán will also have responsibility for the Irish Capuchin missions in South Korea, South Africa, and Zambia.

Brother Seán was ordained a priest for the Capuchin Order in Ballinamore on 6 December 2009 by the then Bishop of Kilmore, Most Reverend Leo O’Reilly.

As a Capuchin Friar, Brother Seán has worked in Belfast, as curate in Priorswood Parish in Dublin, Postulant and Novice Director for the Order, and most recently as Provincial Vicar and Guardian in Kilkenny.

We wish him God’s blessing in his new role.
