Living with Suicide: Special Day Retreat on Lough Derg

The programme for the ‘Living with Suicide’ Retreat on Wednesday, September 23, will include guest talks, reflection, time on the Island and it will close with a prayerful reflection embracing the love of God.

 

The retreat day will be led by Fr Cathal Deery with two talks from guest speakers:

 

Angela Hayes – founder of The Thomas Hayes Trust – a charity that Angela set up in Kilkenny almost two years ago.  Angela is bereaved through suicide and she will share her story and how it affected her family – ‘It’s ok not to feel ok, together we will tear down the walls of silence that surround mental health.’

 

Rev Mervyn Ewing is an ordained minister in the Methodist Church in Ireland. Mervyn represents the Methodist Church on the steering group for Flourish, the churches initiative on suicide. Mervyn will share insights from Flourish.

 

Running from 9.30 am until 4 pm on Wednesday 23rd September, there will be refreshments on arrival and a light lunch will be served.

 

Admission is €40/£35 and booking is essential.
