Synodal Sunday Reflection for Third Sunday of Easter

On this Third Sunday of Easter we hear the very familiar story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus when they encounter, but do not recognise the risen Lord. Janet Forbes, the youth director in the Archdiocese of Armagh and member of the Irish Synodal Pathway’s Task Group, re-tells this story through Diego Velázquez’s famous painting that was once known as The Kitchen Maid.
